Obituary – Sybil Warren King

Sybil Warren King, 84, passed this earthly life at her residence in Oxford, Mississippi on Friday, March 8, 2019. She was born in Tula, Mississippi, to the late parents of Henry Warren and Nona Huckaby Warren.

Visitation was on Sunday, March 10, 2019, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service celebrating her life was at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. with Bro. Derek Starnes officiating. Burial was in Memory Memorial Garden.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories two daughters, Judy (Freddie) Martin of Banner, Mississippi, and Debbie Bishop of Oxford; grandchildren, Jamie (Jennifer) Foshee of Paris, Mississippi, Heather Chinault (Chris) Young of Paragould, Arkansas, Kristie Chinault (Chris) McCammon of Water Valley, Mississippi, Morgan Bishop of Oxford; great grandchildren, Brittany Foshee (Hunter) Houston of Batesville, Mississippi, Andrew Bridgman and J. T. Foshee of Paris, Kensley Walls and Kayle McCammon;  four brothers, Wayne (Glenda) Warren, of Tula, Billy (Barbara Warren, of Water Valley, James (J.B.) Warren, of Sardis, Mississippi, and Kenny (Betty) Warren of Oxford, sister-in-law, Sara Newman King of Paris. A host of nieces and nephews and many friends whom she loved as a family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Joe Abb King;  her parents, Henry and Nona Huckaby Warren; siblings, Opal Gandy, Juanice Anthony, and Gene Warren.

Sybil was an accountant and worked at Rice Stix and later Big Yank in Water Valley. She worked as a Child Enforcement Officer for the Department of Human Services in Lafayette County and retired in 1997 after many years of service.  She was a faithful member of her church, Paris Baptist Church, and served as church Treasurer for a number of years.  She and Joe loved their garden and always had an abundance to share with her friends and family.  She had a beautiful alto voice and loved to sing and loved music.  She loved her family and showed it in her own special way.

Pallbearers were Andrew Bridgman, Greg Davis, Jamie Foshee, Marty Harmon, Brett King and Richard Peeples.
