Michael Scott Monaghan, 66, a dispatcher at University of Mississippi, died Saturday March 16, 2019, at Baptist Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford. Visitation is Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 1-2 p.m. at Clarksdale Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Clarksdale Baptist Church in with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.

Mike was an avid reader. Survivors include his wife of 33 years,  June Weems Monaghan, of Water Valley, Mississippi; two sons, Justin Wiley Monaghan of Exeter, California, and Samuel Tobias Monaghan of Redding, California; daughter, Katherine Scott Monaghan, of Mobile, Alabama; step-brother, Thomas Michael Monaghan, of Harrison, Arkansas; sister, Sue Livingston (Lonnie) of Pearl, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Wiley J Monaghan, William Marcus Monaghan, and Blake Louis Monaghan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Scott “Pete” and Katherine Rogers Monaghan.
