Jackson Avenue Chick-fil-A to begin reconstruction of drive-thru, parking lot

After approving a request that expired last fall, the Chick-fil-A on Jackson Avenue West is ready to begin reconstructing an updated drive-thru and parking lot.
During Tuesday’s regular meeting, the Board of Aldermen approved a request for extended work hours.
The Board, contingent on the approval of the site plan, approved a previous request for extended work hours last November. The site plan was approved in January but work did not begin, causing the November approval to expire. A contractor has been working on-site and directing traffic around the work zone, but with a need to work in the area of the drive-thru and adjacent parking lot, the request for extended hours was needed.
The hours will be from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for an eight-week period beginning at the time of the approval and on Sundays. The request will run from June 19 to July 31. The project will see the current parking lot and drive-thru lanes switching from their current locations. The drive-thru lane will go along closest to the Chick-fil-A building, with the parking lot to the right of the drive-thru lane. The dining room of Chick-fil-A will remain open throughout the duration of the project.
