Grenada man arrested in connection with drive-by shooting

- On Wednesday, August 7, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a residence on Front St for a reported drive-by shooting into an occupied dwelling. There were no injuries but a house had been hit by several bullets. The victims stated that the suspect was Ladarius Shipp (23 of Grenada, MS) who was disgruntled over purchasing a motorcycle. The Leflore County Sheriff’s Department located and arrested Shipp the on Thursday, August 8, and transported him to their jail. At the time of this press release, Shipp has yet to see a Justice Court Judge but is being charged with drive-by shooting and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
A man is currently in the custody of the Leflore County Sheriff’s Department after his alleged involvement in a drive-by shooting in Oxford.
On Wednesday, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a residence on Front Street for a reported drive-by shooting. Upon arriving to the residence, the officers determined no injuries had been sustained in the incident, but the house had been hit by several bullets.
The victims at the scene told officers the suspect was Ladarius Shipp, 23, of Grenada. Shipp was allegedly upset over the purchase of a motorcycle, leading to the shots being fired towards the house.
The Leflore County Sheriff’s Department located and arrested Shipp on Thursday and then transported him back to their jail. At this time Shipp had not been in front of a Justice Court Judge but is being charged with drive-by shooting and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
