Week seven Mississippi Preps Poll: Oxford holding strong

Published 10:44 am Wednesday, October 9, 2019

The Associated Press released its week seven edition of the Mississippi high school football polls on Tuesday, as voted by various media members throughout the state. Both Lafayette and Oxford remain ranked in the 5A and 6A, respectively, with the Chargers hanging around in the state’s top-10.

All three local teams picked up wins a week ago. Lafayette needed to pull out a nail-biter where Oxford needed a second half-run, both on the road. Water Valley took last week to get right, beating Byhalia to end their two-game skid. Below are the full state rankings following week seven.
