Obituary – Donald Lee Copley

Donald Lee Copley, 85, died at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. David Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow in Tula Cemetery. The visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.
Born in Logan, W. Va., to the late Curtis and Mae Conn Copley, Mr. Copley was a retired Master Sargent with the United States Air Force serving for 23 years. After retirement from the Air Force, he went to work with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) where he achieved the rank of GS14, which was equivalent to a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force. He attended Tula Baptist Church, and enjoyed playing golf at The University of Mississippi golf course.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Earline Copley, and two brothers, William Copley and Curtis Copley, Jr. Mr. Copley is survived by his wife, Betty Rose Cole Copley, of Oxford; daughter, Dawn Irene Copley, of Oxford; a son, Tracy Lee Copley, of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a sister, Delores Jean Watson of Huntington, W. Va.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In honor of Mr. Copley’s service to his country, the flag of the United States Air Force will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
