The fall season may have concluded, but Thacker Mountain Radio Hour will still continue to hit airwaves into the winter months.
Oxford’s hometown radio show announced its winter broadcast schedule this week, which includes segments from recent live shows. The shows begin on Dec. 7 and run through Jan.25. There will be a total of eight shows, with four of those airing in December and four in January. Kicking off their winter schedule, Thacker Mountain is holding a holiday membership party on Dec. 6. The party will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. and held at the Southside Art Gallery at 150 Van Buren Ave., on the Square. The event will feature live music from Thacker Mountain’s house band, The Yalobushwackers, and include special guest Alphonso Sanders.
Food will be catered by Party Waitin’ To Happen, The Main Event, Cathead Vodka and The Growler.
The party is free for members of Thacker Mountain Radio and memberships can be purchased at the door. Single memberships cost $50, $75 for a couple and $20 for students. The memberships are good for one year.
Thacker Mountain Radio’s spring season will begin on Jan. 23 at Off Square Books at 6 p.m. There will be a spring season premiere edition of the show on Jan. 30.
