Clara Fay Putman of Oxford entered the Gates of Heaven Friday, Feb, 28, 2020. She was born in
Panola County at her parents’ home on January 23, 1944.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Shady Grove Baptist Church (1432 Shady Grove
Rd, Batesville) from 5-8 p.m. and Monday, March 2, 2020, at 10 a.m. with funeral service to
follow at 11 a.m.
She was loved by her family, church, and all that knew her. She served as Sunday School
teacher, nursery worker, and VBS teacher for many years. She taught and lived out God’s love
for all to see and hear.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne Putman, and parents, Bo Goodwin and
Ida Lee Epps Goodwin.  She is survived by her son, Steve Putman (Tim); daughter, Dawn Cook
(Chuck); five grandchildren, Chaz Cook (Lauren), Erika Morgan (Johnathan), Mikki Gentry
(Josh), Josh Cook (Lauren), and Katie Belle Cook; 7 great grandkids: Graylee, Annalynn, John
Paul, Charlie Kate, Landry, Kinsleigh, Maycee; and two great grandkids on the way, Wayne
Anderson and Cannon.
