Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash on Highway 6
A pedestrian was killed on Sunday night after being hit by a truck near the Castle Hill area.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a 2019 Dodge Ram was traveling westbound on Highway 6 in the area of County Road 409 at approximately 8:12 p.m. The truck, which was being driven by Kenneth E. Thompson of Oxford, then collided with Willie E. Wilkins, also of Oxford, who was a pedestrian.
Wilkins died as a result of the accident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by MHP.
