Frank L. “Sonny” Traylor, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at his home in Oxford surrounded by his loving family. Due to current health concerns, there will be a private family only service in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Reverend Gerald Shook officiating.  Burial will follow in North Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Born in Paris, Miss., Mr. Traylor served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was a loyal and faithful member of North Oxford Baptist Church where he was a member of the Bereans Men’s Sunday School Class. He retired from Vend-A-Snack.   

Mr. Traylor was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Eugene and Ethel Irene Huckaby Traylor; five brothers, Claude, James Elmore “Sweet”, Edward Earl, Louis, and Billy Traylor; and by three sisters, Louise Traylor, Emma Jean Cox, and Margurette Cole.   

 Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Tallant Traylor, of Oxford; four sons, Terry Traylor, and his wife, Lori, of Flowood, Miss., Lane Traylor, and his wife, Jennifer, of Abbeville, Miss., Shane Traylor, of Oxford, and Tim Traylor, and his wife, Wendy, of Abbeville; 10 grandchildren, Richey, Will, Courtney, John, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Leslie, Kyle, Dylan, and Makaela; four sisters, Catherine Alderson, of Oxford, Frances Beard, of Oxford, JoAnn Taylor, of Ariz., and Patti Lampkin, of Oxford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
