Murl Lee Brunson

Murl Lee Brunson, 82, a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Due to the current circumstances, a graveside service was held at Terry Cemetery Monday, April 27, 2020. 

Mr. Brunson was born on August 24, 1938, in Sebastopol, Miss., to Joseph Bart Brunson and Una Morrow Brunson. He was a long-time resident of Terry and a member of First Baptist Church of Terry. A retired Air Force Recruiter and Staff Sergeant, Murl owned and operated Brunco Trucking Company. Murl was a true cowboy and avid horseman who raised, trained, and showed Quarter Horses and Paint Horses. He enjoyed sharing his passion and knowledge and taught many others the trade. He loved people, especially children. He never met a stranger and people loved him in return.  

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings and his loving wife of 55 years, Net Brunson. He is survived by his son, Steve Brunson, of Terry; sister, Aileen Turner, of Philadelphia; sisters-in-law, Pat Brunson and Maxine Brunson; his two precious grandchildren, Taylor and Camdyn Brunson; extended family; and a host of friends.
