Wanda Faye Howard Knight, 89, died Monday, April 27, 2020, at The Blake in Oxford.
A private graveside service will be held in Oxford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Randy Bain officiating. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Knight was the widow of Mr. Samuel Emerson “S.E.” Knight, Sr. She was a longtime member of North Oxford Baptist Church and volunteered with the girl scouts. Many remember Mrs. Knight as the talented seamstress always working behind the scenes on costumes for Deborah Kaye School of Dance. She found so much joy in assisting the dancers and attending their recitals as DKSD’s #1 fan.
The love she carried for her family was immeasurable and her grandchildren were the source of immense pride that only increased as they grew up and started families of their own. She was blessed to love seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren!
In addition to her grandchildren, she is survived by her daughters, Shira Caccavale, of Chino Hills, Calif., and Debbie Paine, and her husband, Brad, of Oxford; and a son, Tiger Knight, and his wife, Pam, of Oxford. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by a son, Michael Joseph Knight.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Knight’s memory may be made to the Lafayette County Law Enforcement Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 1271, Oxford, MS 38655. For additional information or to leave an online condolence, please call 662.234.7971 or visit www.wallerfuneralhome.com.
