Mary Frances Drake Coltharp, 91, died Saturday, May 16, 2020, at her home in Oxford. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2020, in Oxford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Warren Black, Rev. Eddie Rester and Rev. Chelsey Hedglin officiating.
Born in Philadelphia, Miss., to the late John Nicholas and Viola Cannon Drake, Mrs. Coltharp was the widow of Mr. Clyde Hickey Coltharp. As a staple of the Oxford community, Mrs. Coltharp worked for South Central Bell and Dr. Purvis McLaurin before opening Julie’s Fashions where she was the owner and operator for 20 years. She was a longtime and dedicated member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Coltharp Overstreet, of Oxford and a granddaughter, Chelsey Overstreet Hedglin, and her husband, Christopher, of Nashville, Tenn.
