Dense fog advisory impacts visibility in Lafayette County

Lafayette County is under a Dense Fog Advisory, significantly reducing visibility to 2 1/2 miles due to misty conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued this advisory, which remains effective until 7 a.m. on Dec. 2. This advisory warns of visibility challenges that could affect travel and outdoor activities.

Notably, drivers are advised against using high beams in foggy conditions. High beams do not improve visibility in fog; instead, they can reflect off the fog, further impairing visibility.

Be aware that you will need time to react to anything that may suddenly appear in your path, such as deer, other cars and pedestrians.
