The city of Oxford sent out a statement that the Boil Water alert, issued by the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) for customers of city of Oxford water, was lifted at noon on Saturday.

Tests performed by the MSDH laboratory indicate that the water is safe to drink and does not contain bacteria.

Water is now deemed safe to drink. However, customers should discard ice that was made prior to the Boil Water alert.
