Road conditions this morning remain dangerously slick, according to Mayor Robyn Tannehill who posted an update on roads this morning on social media.

Overall, all road conditions are dangerously slick. Travel needs to be done extremely slowly.

  • Highways 6 and 7 both have one usable lane of travel that is not terrible to travel down and is only slick in some spots.
  • Lamar (between Highway 6 and Molly Barr) and University Avenue are also able to be traveled, however, are still slick and have patchy ice. South Lamar beyond the roundabout at Belk is very icy.
  • Jackson Avenue and a majority of the other roads are very icy and appear to be a sheet of ice over the road.

Crews are currently working on University Avenue. The city is shutting off small sections of University Avenue as crews work to make it safer for snow plows to work.
