NWS issues flood watch for Lafayette County

The National Weather Service has issued a flood for Lafayette County for Wednesday and Thursday.

The watch begins at midnight tonight and runs through 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall and melting snow and ice is possible. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Lafayette County is expected to receive 3 to 6 inches of rain over the next 24 to 48 hours.
