Katherine D. Gray, “Katsy”

Katherine D. Gray, “Katsy” to her friends, died on Feb. 6 2024 in Fredericksburg VA. A citizen of Mississippi, she traveled widely arround the world both as the daughter and wife of army offices, Lt Col. John T. Dawson and Lt. Col H. Earl Gray” before returning to MS and living in Oxford for over 43 years. She sang in the choir of St Peter’s Epsicopal Church all this time, was a member of the Browning Club, and an active volunteer in Church Women United as well other volunteer organizations. She is survived by her daughter Mary, her son John, her grandaughters Kellie and Michelle, and great-grand sons, Cael, Neal, and Bryce. She never met a stranger, always had a tale to regale you with about her travels, often several times if you gave her a chance. She lived and died as a child in Christ.

 
A funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oxford on Monday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rt. Rev. Duncan Gray officiating, and a visitation will immediately follow the service in the church Parish Hall.
