An Oxford man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly setting a vehicle on fire.

According to the Oxford Police Department, officers responded Saturday to the Super 8 Motel for a vehicle fire.

The suspect, Jose Cuellzar, 38, of Oxford, was on the scene and officers quickly took him into custody.

The Oxford Fire Department responded to the scene and put out the fire.

Cuellzar was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and charged with arson. He was given a bond of $5,000 by the Municipal Court Judge.
