Lafayette County Democratic Convention to be held later this month

All Lafayette County Democrats are invited to the upcoming Lafayette County Convention.

The event will be held at 10 a.m. on March 23 at the Lafayette County Chancery Courthouse at 300 N. Lamar Blvd. in Oxford.

Every presidential election year, the Mississippi Democratic Party conducts their delegate selection process where they elect members to county executive committees, the state executive committee, delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this August, and discuss platform issues.

“The local and state Democratic party is only as strong as its base, and if you want to see more Democrats elected here in Lafayette County, in the state of Mississippi, and at the national level, then please get involved and be a part of the team,” said Cristin Hemmins, chair of the Lafayette County Democratic Executive Committee.The 1st Congressional District Convention will be held on April 6 in Oxford.
