On Feb. 16, the Oxford Police Department responded to a business in the 2400 block of South Lamar Boulevard in reference to a fraudulent check.

After investigation, Javon Scruggs of Water Valley was arrested for Conspiracy to Commit a Crime and Uttering Forgery.

Scruggs was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $10,000 bond.
