Oxford defeated Desoto Central 7-0 in dominating fashion at home on Monday.

In singles, Oxford’s Charlie Fruge defeated Desoto Central’s Lane Wolfe 6-0, 6-0 in boys’ action while the Chargers’ Chase Grafton beat the Jaguars’ Taylor Burkes 6-0, 6-4 in girls.

In girls’ doubles, Oxford won by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. The Oxford doubles No. 1 team of Mary Shipman and Kaitlyn Urbanek won over Abby Grace Dendy and Lindsey Ruff. The Oxford doubles No. 2 team of Crawford Shows and Allie Harris Flowers defeated Prayrona Sarkar and McKenzie Burkes.

In boys doubles Oxford’s Andrew Koestler and Hayes Huggins won 6-0, 6-0 over Eli Moore and Keighan Wortham. The Oxford doubles No. 2 team of Ben Campbell and Sutherland Smith won their match 6-0, 6-1 over Benton Ruff and Tyler Parkinson.

In mixed doubles Oxford’s Tal Turner and Lotte Luger won 6-1, 6-1 over Mauro Vega and Jenna Claire Sanders.

The Chargers are scheduled to play Hernando and Lewisburg this week.
