Commodores baseball defeats Clarksdale 13-2

The Lafayette Commodores baseball team defeated the Clarksdale Wildcats 13-2 on Thursday.

Lafayette (12-5, 3-1 Region 1-5A) jumped out to a 9-0 advantage in the bottom of the first.
Clarksdale got on the board with two runs in the second.
The Commodores were led by Conner Counts who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Balin Bishop and Tanner Harris drove in two runs each.
Lafayette added two runs in the fourth and in the fifth. Houston Morgan provided the walk-off home run for the 10-run rule victory.
The Commodores had Aleck Farmer on the mound to pick up the complete-game victory. Farmer worked 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
Lafayette returns to action on Saturday as they play host to Center Hill. The first pitch is set for 2 p.m.
