Oxford Chargers defeated Southaven 10-0

The Oxford Chargers defeated Southaven in a 10-run rule 10-0 on Saturday.

Oxford (11-6) jumped out to an early 4-0 advantage over Southaven after the second inning. Oxford put up a three spot in the first.

Oxford’s Brady Stinnett was electric on the mound, as he didn’t allow a run through the first three innings on a hit.

Oxford added two more runs in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead over Southaven. In the fifth, Oxford added four more runs to make it 10-0.

Oxford was led at the plate by Stinnett, who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.  Jack Gaia and Reid Kent collected multiple hits.

Stinnett finished on the mound after 4.0 complete innings and allowed a hit on no runs and seven strikeouts.

In the fifth, Oxford turned to Hayes Huggins to close out the game.

Oxford returns to the diamond on Tuesday as they play host to Southaven at Edwin Moak Field. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
