The Mississippi Democratic Party First Congressional District Convention will be held this weekend in Oxford.

The convention will kick off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Oxford Middle School on Bramlett Boulevard.

During the convention, attendees will elect executive committee members, elect delegates to the Democratic National Convention and discuss platform issues.

Sign-in begins at 9 a.m.

After the convention, there will be a luncheon with Cheikh Taylor, chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party.
