Oxford tennis loses to Tupelo in second round of playoffs

Oxford tennis lost 5-2 to Tupelo on Tuesday in the second round of the MHSAA Class 7A playoffs at the John Leslie Tennis Courts on Tuesday.

Winning matches for the Chargers were the girls doubles team of Kaitlyn Urbanek and Chase Grafton, who defeated Tupelo’s Bella Waldrop and Savannah Smith 7-5, 4-6, (10-4).

Also coming out on top was the Oxford boys doubles team of Andrew Koestler and Hayes Huggins, who won 6-0, 6-3 over Tupelo’s Jack Warren and Whit Harbour.
