The Oxford office will be staffed by two experienced therapists: Keith Baker, PLPC, and Dr. Robert Cross, LPC-S.

Keith Baker, PLPC brings a unique perspective to Lifeworks Counseling, combining his background in human resources with his expertise in addiction counseling. Keith holds a bachelor’s degree in history and math from Samford University and a Master of Science degree in Addiction Counseling from Texas Tech University. With over 25 years of experience as a human resources executive, Keith offers in-depth leadership coaching, life transition guidance, and career counseling.

“My approach to healing includes understanding the whole person, their unique story, and their current life situation,” Keith said. “I strive to provide support in all aspects of the personal experience, including spiritual, physical, emotional, vocational, and relational.”

Dr. Robert Cross, LPC-S is a licensed professional counselor with extensive experience working with individuals with a variety of mental health challenges. Cross earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and biblical studies from William Carey College in 1998. He went on to earn his master’s degree in counseling psychology in 2002, also from William Carey College. Cross holds a Doctor of Professional Counseling degree from Mississippi College and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

“I believe it is my role as a counselor to assist my clients with gaining greater understanding of the conditions that created their present mental and emotional struggles, not to point the finger and place blame, but for the freedom that comes with the knowledge that can begin to answer the question of why someone is experiencing emotional pain,” Cross said. “I believe healing begins with understanding and grows through the physical, cognitive, spiritual, and emotional aspects of human experience.”
