The Powerhouse will be a hub of philanthropy and community support as it hosts the Drawdown and Silent Auction Scholarship Fundraiser.

The event, scheduled from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., on May 3 aims to raise funds for the recently created Tommy D. Cadle scholarship endowment at the University of Mississippi School of Law, benefiting non-traditional law students.

Attendees can expect an evening filled with entertainment, delectable food, and the chance to make a difference. Live music will be provided by KC and the Moonshine Band as patrons bid on a diverse selection of silent auction items.

The Drawdown, a reverse raffle offering a $10,000 grand prize, will be the highlight of the night. With only 400 tickets available, each purchase not only enters participants into the draw but also admits two adults to the event, complete with food, drinks and live music.

During the event, numbers are pulled at random from the board and the last ticket wins the Grand Prize. Drawdown tickets for this event are $125 per ticket.

Drawdown ticket purchasers may elect to purchase optional insurance for $25 per ticket which allows the purchaser’s Drawdown ticket to be put back on the board one time after the first time it is drawn.

General Admission tickets are also available for this event at $50 per ticket.

Those unable to attend in person can join the excitement by purchasing tickets and bidding on auction items online.

The Cadle Law Scholarship Endowment, established in November 2023 by Brad Morris and his wife Sharon, honors the legacy of Booneville attorney Tommy Dexter Cadle. It aims to assist Mississippi residents pursuing legal education later in life, acknowledging the unique perspectives and experiences they bring to the field.

For those interested in participating, tickets and auction bids can be made through the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council website at www.oxfordarts.com or by contacting Brad Morris at info@bradmorrislawfirm.com.
