The Oxford School District announced Friday that all employees will receive a “well-deserved” pay raise for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

“Yesterday, the Oxford School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a raise for all of our dedicated staff members. This decision reflects our unwavering commitment to recognizing and valuing the hard work and dedication of every individual within our school community,” said Superintendent Bradley Roberson in a written statement.

Newly allocated funds from the Mississippi Department of Education’s funding formula, along with financial decisions within the Oxford School District, have allowed this pay raise to happen.

The pay raise initiative, totaling $900,000, aims to ensure that each staff member receives a minimum of a $1,000 increase in annual salary. A percentage-based structure was employed, taking into account the employees’ years of experience and advanced degrees.

The structured approach prioritizes fair compensation, with the largest increases directed towards classified staff members, including teacher assistants, child nutrition workers, and bus drivers.

Teachers also received significant raises in alignment with the proposed percentages.

Roberson said the investment in OSD staff highlights how committed the district is to attracting and retaining top talent while fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

“By prioritizing the welfare of its employees, the district seeks to enhance morale, job satisfaction and ultimately, the quality of education provided to its students,” Roberson said.
