Oxford man faces felony for allegedly shooting at person repossessing a vehicle

A former member of the University of Mississippi Men’s Basketball team was arrested Friday for allegedly shooting at a repo man.
At 5:07 p.m. on Friday, the Oxford Police Department responded to the Price Hill Park area for a shooting report.
Officers arrived and detained several persons of interest.
During their investigation, detectives discovered that a vehicle was in the process of being repossessed when Jamarion Demontrez Sharp, 22, of Oxford fired a gun toward the person repossessing the vehicle.
No one was injured.
Sharp was taken into custody and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked for aggravated assault. He was given a $100,000 bond by the Municipal Court Judge.
According to the university’s website, Sharp played for the Rebels during the 2023/2024 season.
