Oxford Police record 2 Oxford resident arrests, including one for allegedly stealing a firearm

Oxford Police have recorded the arrest of a 39-year-old Oxford man by Water Valley Police for allegedly stealing a firearm out of a vehicle at a residence.

OPD responded to a report of a burglary on December 23, where the victim had video of a suspect going into his vehicle and stealing a pistol, according to a police report.

The suspect was allegedly seen removing the firearm from the side of the vehicle and leaving the premises with the pistol. Investigators issued a warrant for the suspect’s arrest.

Water Valley Police arrested Sammie Gross, of Oxford, on February 24 for both warrants of auto burglary and possession of firearm by a felon.

WVPD transported Gross to the Lafayette County Detention Center, where a Justice Court Judge set his bond at $25,000.

Oxford Police also arrested another Oxford resident for embezzlement at a local salon.

OPD took a walk-in report by the owner of La Rousse Salon and Spa business on February 20, where the owner allegedly saw an employee take money out of the cash register.

On February 26, the suspect, Hannah Mason, 24, of Oxford, turned herself into investigators. She was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center and a Justice Court Judge set her bond at $2,500.
