Chamber of Commerce to hold public education information session

Relators looking to pitch Oxford to potential clients will get a chance to learn more about the city and county’s public education system.

The Oxford-Lafayette Chamber of Commerce announced it will hold a public information session, in collaboration with North Central Mississippi relators, on February 22nd at 8:30 a.m.

The session will feature the superintendents from both Lafayette and Oxford school districts, Dr. Adam Pugh and Brian Harvey, respectively.

Pugh and Harvey will present overviews of their school districts to begin the session, and a Q&A session will immediately follow their presentations.

“Education is the first thing people look at when considering where to buy a home,” senior vice president of the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce Pam Swain said in the release. “We want to make sure our realtors know as much as possible about each district so they can field the questions from potential newcomers to the area.”

The forum, also called the Realtors Public Education Forum, will be open to all realtors in the greater community. Members of the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce are also allowed to attend, in order to give businesses an opportunity to hear more about both school districts as well.
