POTLOCONA — Lura Nell Gregory McDonald, 75, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at her home in Potlocona surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley with Bro. Tim Sockwell officiating. Burial will be in the Webb Cemetery in Lafayette County. Visitation will be held today from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Bruce, she was employed as admissions director for East Mississippi State Hospital where she retired after 25 years of service. She was a member of New El Bethel Baptist Church and a  member of a Ladies Bible study group which met in her home each week. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, painting, pottery, gardening and cooking for her family and friends. She was especially fond of her little dog, Lucy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Raymond McDonald Sr., and brother, Butch Gregory.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry James of Meridian; three sons, Carl McDonald, Randy McDonald and Al McDonald, all of Potlocona; four sisters, Nancy Petros, Jeanie Harwell, Tina Foster and Michelle Poynor, all of Potlocona; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
