NEW ALBANY — Ernest Marsh Cousar, 90, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. Funeral services were held Monday at United Funeral Service with Bro. Greg Spencer officiating. Burial was in Vista Memorial Park. United Funeral Service in New Albany was in charge of arrangements.

A native of Union County, he was a United States Army veteran of World War II and was a loyal employee of Harwell (Henson) Distributing Company for 47 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, attending sporting events and spending time with his family. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of New Albany.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Cousar and James Cousar.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Dunnam Cousar of New Albany; son, Jeff Cousar of Oxford; daughters, Janice Hall of New Albany and Jill Conerly of Tupelo; sister, Dorothy Ann Farrell of McGehee, Arkansas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice, 422A East President, Tupelo, MS 38801.
