MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Dorothy Ann Langston Smith, 81, formerly of Water Valley, died Saturday, April 30, 2016, at her home in Memphis. Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. until service time at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Yalobusha County, she worked as a switchboard operator for Goldsmith’s in downtown Memphis. She enjoyed flower gardening, feeding and watching the birds in her yard and spending time with family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Roland Smith; sisters Virginia Strunk and Carolyn Fewell; and brother Billy Langston.

She is survived by her daughter Lori Norris of Memphis, Tennessee; sister Martha Williamson of Water Valley; brother David Langston of Water Valley; and two grandchildren.
