American golfer Phil Mickelson is known as “Lefty.”

He was once one of the most talented young golf stars in the world. But, he’s not so young anymore.

So as the golfer has been in the lead or close to the lead of the British Open 2016 this week many have been searching and asking, “How old is Phil Mickelson?”

Mickelson was born in San Diego, California on June 16, 1970, so he’s 46 years old.

If Lefty were to win the 2016 British Open it would be quite an accomplishment, then.

Mickelson and his wife, Amy, have three children. He played golf at Arizona State University, and turned pro in 1992.

He has 42 PGA victories including 5 majors wins. This British Open is the first time in a while, though, he has been in such high contention for a major win.
