Sherain Sue Thomas

Mrs. Sherain Sue Thomas, 74, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Brookdale – Margate Assisted Living in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Mrs. Thomas, a homemaker, was born on May 23, 1943, in Marion, Indiana to The Late Olive Gertrude Southgate Poling and Clarence Sherman Poling. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in the Harmontown community, who enjoyed all types of arts and crafts. As a wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, she loved her family dearly, and considered them her greatest accomplishment.

She leaves behind her loving family including two daughters, Katherine Principi (Perry) of Harmontown and Pamela Williams (Carl) of Myrtle; three sons, Phillip Thomas (Jim Hughes) of Tamarac, Florida, Perry Salmon (Angela) of Aurora, Illinois, and Gene Thomas (Laura) of Myrtle; one brother, Steve Poling of Burlington, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Bill Thomas; two daughters, Paula Munieo and Vicki Williams; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 12 p.m. in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Dearman officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, in the funeral home, from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Hospital, 5959 Park Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 or to the American Cancer Society.
