Another Ole Miss player is getting preseason consideration for one of college football’s top awards.

Sean Rawlings has been named to the fall watch list for the Rimington Trophy, which is annually awarded to the top center in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Rawlings is one of eight centers from the Southeastern Conference to make the list.

Quarterback Shea Patterson and defensive end Marquis Haynes were named to the Maxwell and Bednarik award watch lists Monday.

A rising junior, Rawlings has played in 21 games with 15 starts in his first two seasons with the Rebels, including all 12 games a season ago. He’s part of an offensive line that returns all five starters for an offense that finished 13th nationally in passing, 26th in total offense, 42nd in scoring and 95th in rushing.

The award’s winner will be announced at the Rimington Trophy Presentation in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Jan. 13.
