Bobby Hugh Stewart, 86, died Thursday, July 20, 2017, at his home in Oxford. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Dr. Glenn Waller officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 p.m. until service time in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Born in Oxford to Hubert Quinton and Margaret Elizabeth McLarty Stewart, Mr. Stewart was a retired insurance agent and owned Stewart Insurance Agency. He was a Presbyterian and established Stewart Kennels in 1999 where he bred and trained British Labrador Retrievers. He also showed Tennessee Walking Horses and placed at the national level. Mr. Stewart was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a storekeeper seaman during the Korean War.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Linda Holt Stewart of Oxford; daughter, Elizabeth Anne Hyde of Greenville, South Carolina; sons, William Melvin Stewart and his wife, Maria of Greenville, South Carolina, and Mike Stewart of Oxford, and four grandchildren, Lauren Hyde of Greenville, South Carolina, Caroline Hyde of Oxford, Callie Stewart of Greenville, South Carolina and McCall Bateman of Nashville, Tennessee.
