Oxford man charged with fourth DUI, child endangerment

- On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, an officer with the Oxford Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on South 18th Street on a vehicle with no taillights. The vehicle continued until it stopped at a residence on Garfield Ave. The officer made contact with the driver, Christopher McDaniel (29 of Oxford, MS), and began a DUI investigation. During the investigation it was discovered that McDaniel had at least 3 prior DUI convictions and that there was a child in the car with him. McDaniel was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI 4th, child endangerment by DUI, driving with a suspended driver’s license, no insurance, no taillights, no tag, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. McDaniel was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center and given of a bond of $25,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
An Oxford man has been arrested for a fourth DUI, child endangerment, driving without a license and other charges following a traffic stop on June 6.
According to the Oxford Police Department, an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on South 18th Street. The vehicle continued to Garfield Avenue, where it stopped at a residence.
The officer made contact with the driver, Christoper McDaniel, 29, and began a DUI investigation. During the investigation, it was discovered that McDaniel had at least three prior DUI convictions. The officer also learned that there was a child in the car with McDaniel.
McDaniel, of Oxford, was subsequently arrested for DUI 4th, which is a felony, child endangerment by DUI, driving with a suspended driver’s license, no car insurance, no taillights, no tag, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
McDaniel was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $25,000 in Justice Court.
