Obituary – Amy Lou Varner Wells

Amy Lou Varner Wells, 65, died Sunday, March 31, 2019, at her home in Lafayette County. The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Elder James Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Church Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to the late Earl and Wilma Howard Varner, Mrs. Wells was a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church. She formerly worked as a machinist at Kellwood in Oxford and Big Yank in Water Valley.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Varner, and her twin sister, Mamie Sue Varner. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Billy Wayne Wells, of Oxford, Mississippi; three sisters, Debbie Varner Standard and her husband, Steve, of Oxford, Martha Varner Phillips of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and Beth Varner Blue of Waterford, Mississippi; two brothers, Lynn Varner and his wife, Tina, of Oxford and Gene Varner and his wife, Annetta, of Bremerton, Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
