Following a ruling by the Hinds County Chancery Court, the Mississippi State Department of Health released a list of long-term care facilities across the state that have reported COVID-19 outbreaks.
MSDH released the list on Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. The list will be updated daily, along with their daily update of new positive cases in each county.
While Lafayette County had already reported outbreaks among staff and clients at two LTC facilities already, a third facility was on Wednesday’s list, which was current as of June 2. One positive test by either a staff member or residents can trigger a reported outbreak by MSDH.
The Mississippi State Veterans Home – Oxford has an employee who tested positive, according to the MSDH chart. Oxford Health and Rehab has five employees who have tested positive. Neither facility has any positive cases among residents.
North Mississippi Regional Center’s Oxford Campus has the largest concentration of COVID-19 cases. According to the MSDH chart, there are 24 employees and 35 clients who have tested positive. The facility also has the one reported LTC death due to COVID-19 in Lafayette County.
According to the MSDH website, long-term care facilities include nursing homes, personal care homes, assisted living homes and intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disability (ICF-IID).
The full list can be viewed at the MSDH’s website.
