Ole Miss cornerback Jalen Julius will miss the rest of the spring after fracturing his left arm during the Rebels’ first practice Tuesday, a school spokesman confirmed.

The Ole Miss Spirit first reported the news.

Julius started eight games as a redshirt freshman last season. The Rebels were already without another projected starting corner this spring in rising senior Ken Webster, whom head coach Hugh Freeze said is “doing great” in his recovery from multiple torn knee ligaments last season but won’t participate in spring practices.

Julius had 21 tackles, two pass breakups and a sack last season.

Tony Bridges, Carlos Davis, Derrick Jones and Kailo Moore are all out of eligibility, leaving Julius and rising sophomore Jaylon Jones (12 games, one start) as the only corners back who were part of the regular rotation last season. Junior college transfer Javien Hamilton, an early enrollee, will help with depth there in the spring.
